ODF logo
From ODF::Wiki
The ODF logo is the official logo of the ODF, as it can be found on our homepage in the top-left corner. The first and second logo were drawn by Lo and D.Cent themselves, the third was made by Isaac, one of our designers.
[edit] First Logo
The first logo was published on 17th May 2007, together with the first homepage. It contains the white letters "ODF" on a blue background with a yellow sun. In the middle of the O, there is a light reflection.
[edit] Second Logo
The second logo was published when the second homepage went online, which was exactly on 1st January 2008. This time, the letters ODF were made black and the background was made white, with a gray horizon. The O is part of a magnifying glass, which makes some code visible. It is the original code of an old version of libdog, displayed with nedit.
This code is chosen because dog was one of the most important projects when the ODF was founded (libodf resulted out of libdog).
[edit] Third Logo
In July 2009, Lo thought that it would be time to make a new logo. Fortunately, some weeks later, a new modeler, Isaac, joined the ODF. He presented his proposes, and on 10th September 2009 (after 5 days without vetos), D.Cent put it on the homepage, forum and wiki.
The new logo contains the letters ODF, whereas the D is turned leftside, overlapping the O. On the O, lots of persons are standing, which could be considered a representation of our community, standing on the first letter of "Open". Topleft of the O, other people are in a way that it looks like a gear-wheel. You could see it as a indication to our technical interests.
What is special about the new logo is that, since Isaac made it based on vector graphics, the letters can be colored by only changing a value in an XML file. This would make it possible to even change it automatically.
